Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga, known to fans as the AshDres tandem, are set to take their undeniable chemistry to the big screen in their debut film “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna.” With the popularity of their breakout pairing in “Mutya ng Seksyon E,” many expected their next move to be another social media-driven project. But according to the film’s director, Jason Paul Laxamana, this upcoming movie was not simply born out of hype.

Laxamana shared that the script had already been written even before the AshDres loveteam came to life. The project went through a careful and typical development process, and he was pleased that the film was greenlit not just because “Mutya” went viral. Instead, Muhlach and Olviga were chosen after thoughtful consideration, and the project itself had a clear direction long before the buzz. Laxamana emphasized that the film aims to showcase the pair not just as a trending love team, but as serious actors.
Although the movie hasn’t started filming yet, its 49-second teaser has already gone viral. In the brief clip, Muhlach and Olviga don’t speak a word—yet their intense eye contact and natural connection have captivated thousands online. Fans are already eagerly awaiting more, even though details about the full plot, supporting cast, and official release date remain under wraps.
Interestingly, the film’s title “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna” is reminiscent of the hit 1993 movie “May Minamahal” which starred Muhlach’s father alongside Aiko Melendez. While the similarity in titles might just be a coincidence, it adds a layer of curiosity to the project. Muhlach himself is thrilled to work with Olviga again, praising her talent and the ease of their working dynamic. He expressed excitement for the process, grateful for their director’s guidance, and confident that their collaboration would deliver something special. He described Olviga as a talented partner, saying there’s something natural and effortless about acting alongside her.
Olviga, meanwhile, admitted that she wasn’t nervous while filming the teaser. Coming straight off their “Mutya ng Seksyon E OST Live in Concert,” she was focused on doing her job. However, the teaser’s strong performance online shifted her perspective. She began to feel the weight of the expectations being placed on her and became more aware of how much this project means to fans. Determined to deliver, she’s now channeling all her attention into the script. For her, the priority is understanding her character’s emotions and delivering an authentic performance once filming begins.
While fans eagerly await more updates, one thing is certain — the AshDres tandem is stepping into a new chapter, one that might just define their careers in the years to come.
