Binura na ng Meta ang mga Facebook page ng ilang kilalang Pilipinong influencer dahil sa pagpo-promote ng mga ilegal na online gambling.
Kasunod ito ng joint request ng Digital Pinoys at Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC).
Ayon sa Digital Pinoys, kabilang sa unang batch ng tinanggal na mga Facebook page sina Sachzna Laparan (9.7 milyon followers), Boy Tapang (5.5 milyon followers), Mark Anthony Fernandez (242,000 followers), at Kuya Lex TV (100,000 followers).
Kabuuang 20 influencer din ang na-flag at isinumite para sa beripikasyon.
“Some of these influencers thought they were untouchable—that we were bluffing,” saad naman ni Digital Pinoys National Campaigner Ronald Gustilo.
“They had more than enough time to comply. They gambled with the law, and now they’re facing the consequences,” dagdag pa niya.
Pinuri din ni Gustilo ang mabilis na aksyon ng CICC sa pamumuno ni Asec. Aboy Paraiso, at binigyang-diin na ito pa lamang ang simula ng mas malawakang crackdown laban sa illegal online gambling. (AM)
