Kris Aquino recently shared a health update that she and her youngest son Bimby Yap have been going through in her recent Instagram post dated last July 21, Monday. The 54-year-old TV personality also invited her followers to an online Q & A session with her and Bimby that same night.

Kris wrote, “Bimby’s finally healthy after having a bad case of the stomach flu. The typhoon made my rheumatoid arthritic HURT so much (it’s hard to explain the other autoimmune diseases I have as well as the 2 recently diagnosed diseases because of my multiple autoimmune diseases). Let’s have fun. Bimb will soon take over my IG (with me checking before he posts)… get to know us because we are very different people now. At 11 PM we’ll answer the questions we find intriguing and worth answering. Walang bastusan, please? Like this post & follow us?”

In the comments section of the same post, Kris gamely answered her fans, whose comments range mostly from sending prayers and well wishes for her fast recovery. In one reply, she gives an idea of where she and her family are currently based now outside of Metro Manila.

“I am currently staying at the compound of a very kind friend of my brother. This place is very peaceful and living where i get fresh sea air and listen to the waves was always my dream. Too bad I am now wheelchair bound… I still need to learn how to walk again.”

After almost seven years since being diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, Kris shared that it has actually multiplied since then. But she continues to stay strong for the sake of her sons Josh and Bimby.

“I now have 9 primary autoimmune diseases , # 10 is a result of the 9, and I have an 11th disease that came about because of my lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s (Mayo Clinic defines it as a “disorder of your immune system identified by its two most common symptoms — dry eyes and a dry mouth”), and a few of my other autoimmune diseases. I love my sons and they aren’t ready to lose me- especially Bimb who just turned 18. Thank you for loving me.”

In another reply, Kris reiterated her plans to have Bimby take over her social media account and other responsibilities as she continues her ongoing health battles. She wrote, “I’m not the same me and I want to give all of you the KRIS you deserve. Parang gremlins kung magmultiply my autoimmune diseases including the complications. I think you will like watching the 6’2″ male version of me because he’s more down to earth, athletic, and super charming to all—we will be uploading soon but Bimb will be the one going outside and meeting people.”

Kris also got reflective in one candid comment where she gave her opinion on those who suggest she see a therapist. Kris also revealed that she finds Christian and Catholic contemporary music as therapeutic.

“i have reached a point where i have forgiven those who never bothered to say they are sorry… i have been blessed in so many ways because all my dreams as a child came true because i had a dad who called me beautiful and many times encouraged me to dream bigger dreams… my mom when i was on TV on a daily basis you will be amused to know was a stage mom monitoring my shows and telling me when a certain angle wasn’t flattering and made me look big or when i mispronounced a word…

“I have nothing at all against therapists but i am very self aware—I am now on 2 immunosuppressants so we would need to do therapy online. With how sophisticated hackers can be and how AI can alter a person’s words and facial expression- no thanks. My therapy is listening to Christian and Catholic Contemporary music.”
