For nearly fifty years, the “TVJ” brand has been a masterclass in public relations, a triumvirate of perceived personalities that balanced perfectly. Tito Sotto was the statesman and the formidable “head.” Joey de Leon was the “Henyo Master,” the creative, sharp-tongued “brain.” But the “heart” of the operation, the figure who made the brand universally lovable, has always been Vic Sotto.
“Bossing.” The name itself is a testament to his persona. He is the benevolent, charming, and eternally “good guy.” He is the apolitical, approachable, and least controversial of the three. While Tito navigated the halls of the Senate and Joey courted controversy with his acidic wit, Vic Sotto remained the beloved, goofy, and paternal presence that anchored Eat Bulaga and made it feel like a “family.”
Now, that “family” is in a state of open warfare. And in a stunning, systematic “divide and conquer” campaign, the “heart” of TVJ is the final target.
Another iconic Sexbomb Dancer, Izzy Trazona, has reportedly “come forward” (“lumantad”) with her own “shocking revelation.” And this one is not aimed at the “system” or the “brain.” It is a surgical, personal strike aimed directly at Vic Sotto, alleging what he “did to her.”
This is the story of the final, devastating blow in the “truth-telling” rebellion that has become the real “TVJ Issue.” It’s the moment the “daughters” of the house, in a full-blown mutiny, have finally, and completely, cornered all three of their “fathers.”
To understand the sheer, catastrophic damage of this allegation, you must understand the timeline. This is not one, single, disgruntled voice. This is a choir. For weeks, the Eat Bulaga schism has been defined by a series of “truth bombs,” each one more personal than the last.
First, it was Anjo Yllana, who targeted Tito Sotto with allegations of personal hypocrisy and dark family secrets. This effectively isolated the “statesman” of the group, painting him as a “moral” leader who was anything but.
Then, it was Jopay Paguia, another Sexbomb icon, who “came forward” with a “revelation” aimed squarely at Joey de Leon. This isolated the “brain,” suggesting the “Henyo Master” was, in personal interactions, allegedly disrespectful and cruel, shattering the “creative genius” myth.
And now, Izzy Trazona. Her “revelation” completes the set. By targeting Vic Sotto, she is attacking the “soul” of the brand. This is the final pillar. If the public believes that “Bossing” Vic Sotto—the kind, lovable, paternal one—is also, at his core, just as “bad” as the others, then the entire TVJ legacy is undone. The brand is left with no “good guy,” no “heart.”
This is why this “TVJ Issue” has become a PR nightmare with no escape. The “daughters” of the house, the very women TVJ built into stars, are now systematically dismantling their creators, one by one.
What did Vic Sotto allegedly “do”? The reports, as with the previous ones, point to a personal transgression. It is not a contractual complaint; it is a personal wound. Was it a broken promise? A moment of public humiliation disguised as one of the show’s famous “jokes”? Was it a display of the “Bossing” persona that was less “kind father” and more “callous boss”?
The “revelation” is allegedly Izzy’s personal testimony of what she experienced under Vic Sotto’s leadership. It shatters the “Bossing” myth. It recasts the man whose charm has sold billions in movie tickets and endorsements as just another powerful figure who, when the cameras were off, was not the man the public believed him to be.
The “why now” is the most critical piece of this puzzle. Izzy Trazona, like Rochelle Pangilinan and Jopay Paguia, was silent for decades. She watched the show, built her career, and moved on. The catalyst for this “truth-telling” campaign is, without a doubt, the TVJ vs. TAPE Inc. war.
TVJ’s entire legal and moral argument for leaving their producers was that “TAPE Inc. disrespected the family.” They were the “victims,” the benevolent patriarchs who were being bullied by a cold, heartless corporation. They were fighting for their “Dabarkads,” for “loyalty,” for “legacy.”
This one, single narrative plank is what has opened the floodgates.
In claiming to be the ultimate “family,” TVJ inadvertently gave a global platform to every “family member” who felt that they were the ones who were disrespected, long before TAPE Inc. ever entered the picture.
Rochelle Pangilinan’s “admission” suggested the “family” was an exploitative system. Jopay Paguia’s “revelation” suggested the “family” was run by a “father” (Joey) who was personally unkind. And now, Izzy Trazona’s “revelation” suggests the other “father” (Vic) was just as bad.
This is the ultimate hypocrisy, the one-two-three punch that has knocked the TVJ narrative out cold. How can you claim to be the “good guys” fighting for “family” when all your most prominent “daughters” are lining up to testify that the “family” was, in fact, a toxic, disrespectful, and painful environment for them?
Vic Sotto is now in the most impossible position of the three. Tito Sotto is a politician; he is used to attacks. Joey de Leon is a controversialist; he thrives on it. But Vic Sotto’s entire brand is “love.” He cannot, under any circumstances, “fight back” against Izzy Trazona.
If he attacks her, he proves her point. He becomes the “bully,” the “callous boss,” and his “Bossing” image is shattered forever. If he stays silent, it is interpreted as an admission of guilt. It is a confirmation that her “revelation” is true. He has no good moves. He is trapped.
This is the tragic, poetic end of the Eat Bulaga war. It is no longer about a trademark or a time slot. That battle has been won. This is the real war, the war for the soul of the legacy. And the patriarchs are losing.
They are losing because the “children” they raised, the women who defined their show’s golden age, have come back to testify. And they are all, in unison, telling the public the same, heartbreaking story: the “happy family” we all watched, the “happy family” we all believed in, was the greatest, and most painful, illusion of all.
